Twenty-odd turns into the Interval, it ought to be smooth sailing for High Reaches Weyr; things ought to have calmed down, reached some kind of equilibrium.

Unfortunately, while there may no longer be thread, things seem determined to go poorly for the northern Weyr. A few turns ago it was raiders, this turn there was a land deal (a perfect opportunity for the weyr to gain some self-sufficiency) that went horribly, horribly wrong... and a meteor shower that destroyed High Reaches' Eye Rock, resulted in several deaths and a score of injuries, and caused further damage throughout the High Reaches Hold area.

Of course, not everyone sees this as wholly disaster: there's marks to be made for those who can see opportunity, and there's plenty of those around High Reaches. It may not all be legitimate - but that's about par for the course at this weyr.

High Reaches Weyr on NorConMUSH is currently seeking people interested in getting involved in our plots. We're also looking for potential candidates for our Winter 2010 search cycle, with OOC search commencing on January 24th.

A few turns ago it was raiders, this turn it was a land deal (a perfect opportunity for the weyr to gain some self-sufficiency in the Interval) that went horribly, horribly wrong. Now, a meteor shower has caused significant damage across the High Reaches area, and, perhaps worst of all, took out the Weyr's Eye Rock.

To top it all off, High Reaches' only Junior Weyrwoman has recently transferred out of the weyr, amid mutterings about the Weyrleaders' ethics. Of course, Weyrwoman Tiriana insists she doesn't need any help to run her Weyr, but between her infamous temper and her teenaged Weyrleader, recently reconfirmed but no more effective than ever? All eyes are looking to senior gold Iovniath to produce another queen. With candidates soon to come for the upcoming clutch, and convicts being hauled in to do the hard yards on the Star Stones' repair, things at High Reaches are looking busy--not to mention increasingly complicated.

Iovniath and Cadejoth's clutch has hatched and gone - twenty new pairs in the barracks - but we have space for two insta weyrlings, if anyone is interested in picking up a character right in on the action.
